Javier Saade
Javier Saade is venture partner at Fenway Summer, a firm that backs companies innovating at the intersection of technology and finance. He is also on the Board Of Advisors at Harvard University's Rock Center for Entrepreneurship, Board of Trustees at Organization of American States' Pan American Development Foundation, Board of Advisors at Univision Communications and a Mentor at Techstars.
Previously, President Obama appointed him to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as Associate Administrator and Chief of Investment & Innovation. Since inception, the multi-billion dollar programs he ran have collectively invested $120 billion in over 320,000 businesses. Javier also held a seat on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Committee on Small and Emerging Companies.
Before public service, he spent 20+ years in various executive, investing, entrepreneurial and advisory roles and has worked at organizations that include McKinsey & Company, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Bridgewater Associates, Air America and Abbott Laboratories. Additionally, Javier held three short-term concurrent roles as Executive in Residence @ Columbia University's Columbia Technology Ventures, Senior Fellow @ Georgetown University's Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation, and Mentor @ Stanford University's Latino Leadership Entrepreneurship Initiative.
He frequently writes and speaks about financial inclusion, social innovation, corporate diversity, growth capital investing, impact investing, civic participation, STEM-driven transformation, digital finance, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Javier holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, MS in Operations & Technology from Illinois Institute of Technology and BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University.
