Jan Wessels

Dr. Jan Wessels has been working for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) since 2010. Within the division "Innovation Policy Issues", he is responsible for the implementation of the High-Tech Strategy and international aspects of innovation strategy.
Dr. Wessels studied political sciences at the Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin) and the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (IEP). He earned his PhD from the Free University of Berlin in 1999. Prior joining the BMBF Dr. Wessels worked as a consultant for VDI/VDI Innovation + Technik GmbH in the area of innovation policy consultancy for several German ministries and the European Commission.
