# Liberalism and Protectionism in a Global Scenario of Uncertainty

**Location:** Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Economic freedom and representative democracy have suffered a succession of hard blows—from the COVID-19 pandemic, the control and stimulus measures, the difficulty of recovering all links in the production chains and more recently the Russian invasion of Ukraine—with widespread economic and geopolitical effects.

In this context, the VI Forum seeks to reflect on the risks, opportunities and alternatives that exist for Brazil and Latin American countries in the current context to move towards more productive, inclusive, open, innovative societies and under the aegis of the rule of law and monetary and fiscal stability.
