Matthew Hancock is an economist and politician. He has been a Member of Parliament for West Suffolk since 2010 and is Minister for Skills in the UK Government’s Departments of Education and of Business. Before entering Parliament he worked as an economist at the Bank of England, and later as Chief of Staff to the Chancellor of the Exchequer (finance minister) George Osborne. He once held the world record for the most northerly game of cricket ever played.
